A Visit to Ahomakoramuah - First rural community in Ghana to benefit from the WAPI Project

The WASH Club in collaboration with the #WAPIsfortheWorld organization is in preparation to help a rural community (Ahomakuramuah) to get access to safe drinking water. To begin with the project dubbed #WAPIProject, a team of two from the WASH Club (Jonathan and George) embarked on a visit to Agona Abrem District in the Central Region to observe and meet the leaders of a community on the 9th of September 2018. The team arrived in the community at 12:45pm and. upon arrival, Mr. Atta, the contact person in the community welcomed the team warmly and inquired from the team the purpose of our visit. Jonathan briefly introduced #TheWASHClub to him and the purpose of our visit. The meeting ended after some few minutes and Mr. Atta took the team on a tour to their source of water (stream). At the site, George inquired from Mr. Atta how the community get access to water during the dry season, Mr. Atta explained the difficulties face by the community during dry seasons in the quest for water.

Upon interaction, the team was made to understand that the community leaders are not around as such will inform them on the development on their next committee meeting and give the team feedback on the day to visit to undertake the project. The team assured Mr. Atta they would be back with all team members to undertake such project depending on the results of the community committee meeting. The team then thanked Mr. Atta and left the community at exactly 2:15pm.
